Complete the Code Student Handbook

Little Wandle Code ensures effective reading intervention in early KS3. This tried and tested programme with accompanying resources comprising 10 age-appropriate, levelled and fully decodable anthologies plus 3 workbooks will support all students who are not meeting age-related expectations when they begin secondary school. Start the Code Student Workbook is part of the Little Wandle Code programme which students use to write-in during the reading intervention lessons in school. It is ed for students who may have gaps in their phonic knowledge which might be masked by coping strategies. Students work through the workbook in the intervention sessions to secure their phonic knowledge and build confidence through consistent and carefully ed activities. Each session introduces the graphemes and the curriculum words to learn. Summary sections include review opportunities as well as self-reflection points. Students apply their phonic knowledge at the end of each unit to create new words. Each workbook includes a tricky words grid, ‘You as a Reader‘ survey, chart for the pathway and glossary. The workbooks are fully integrated within the Code programme and are supported by teacher notes and slides available from the Little Wandle Code subscription.
