The Story of Greek Philosophy

Dr. Zaki Naguib Mahmoud‘s intellectual project was based on simplifying philosophy so that it would be easier for non-specialists to understand and discuss it. He wanted to bring philosophy down from the tower that had been built for it and in which it had been imprisoned, so that it could interact with the people, philosophize about their problems, and formulate solutions. In this context, his collaboration with the writer and thinker Ahmed Amin was to inform people about the story of philosophy since its dawn in the land of Greece, where its first signs appeared. In this book, the two authors take us, in a smooth style free of complications, through the realms of philosophy, starting with its axioms; This section defines philosophy, its meaning, and its origins, tracing it back to the early Greek thinkers and various schools of philosophy, so that the reader may be familiar with all aspects of the philosophy upon which Islamic philosophy and the medieval period were built, and by which modern philosophy was influenced.
